Geography
Relief and rivers
The South is a forested plateau 500 to 700 m high sloping down to the Atlantic coast at Kribi and Campo. The Ntem marks the border with Equatorial Guinea and Gabon; the Lobé falls drop straight into the ocean.
Climate and natural environments
The four-season equatorial climate sustains the dense forest of Campo Ma'an National Park. The Kribi deep-sea port has transformed the region's coastline.
Borders and hazards
The region borders Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Congo. Coastal erosion and floods are the main natural hazards.
