Cameroon becomes a UN trust territory
On 13 December 1946, the UN General Assembly approved the trusteeship agreements under which France and the United Kingdom continued to administer their respective parts of Cameroon, now under the UN trusteeship system that replaced the mandate of the defunct League of Nations. The United Kingdom continued to administer its territory as an integral part of Nigeria.
