Boko Haram insurgency in the Far North

Starting with a first clash near Fotokol on 2 March 2014, the Nigerian armed group Boko Haram carried out repeated incursions and attacks in Cameroon's Far North region, forcing the country to deploy additional troops and causing population displacement and civilian and military casualties over several years.
